I wrote an album in 2023 called The Sea, and now have a demo up (on Bandcamp). I don't know if or when I will ever make a more polished version of it. I feel like I should be a writer, first. Writing songs is close to being a writer. The rest of the process of getting songs out (practicing, recording demos, performing; or, the more "industrial" things, which I haven't done, like making an official studio recording, dealing with music industry people, making a music video, online marketing, going on tour) gets further and further away from writing.
Making demos might be OK sometimes. Songwriting can do things that regular writing can't. Right now I feel like taking a break from songwriting, though.
